Summary of the results in TSBF paper

This spreadsheet summarizes all the results in TSBF paper submitted to IEEE PAMI. Here are the detailed description of what is included in each spreadsheet:

  1. "All Results" :  stores the error rates for each classification approach considered in the paper. These are TSBF with random and uniform subsequences, nearest neighbor (NN) classifiers with dynamic time warping (DTW) and Sparse Spatial Sample Kernels (SSSK), classification with random forests (RF) and support vector machines (SVM) on bag-of-word (BoW) representation generated using uniform subsequences. We also compare TSBF to RF (raw) applied directly to time series values, and RF (feature) applied directly to the interval features extracted from the whole time series. Scatter plots comparing some approaches pairwise are also provided.
  2. "SSSK results": stores the information regarding the parameter selection for NN classification with SSSK features. The leave-one-out cross-validation error rates and test error rates are provided for the selected parameters. The details of the parameter selection are also discussed here.
  3. "results (R)": provides information about TSBF runs with random subsequence generation. Solution stats for each minimum subsequence length setting (z) is summarized over 10 replications. Also the z setting providing the minimum out-of-bag (OOB) error rate on the training data is provided for each dataset. 
  4. "results (U)": provides information about TSBF runs with uniform subsequence generation. Solution stats for each minimum subsequence length setting (z) is summarized over 10 replications. Also the z setting providing the minimum out-of-bag (OOB) error rate on the training data is provided for each dataset.
  5. "z=0.1 (R), ...., z=0.75 (R)": These sheets contain the information regarding each replication of TSBF with random subsequence generation for each z setting.
  6. "z=0.1 (U), ...., z=0.75 (U)": These sheets contain the information regarding each replication of TSBF with uniform subsequence generation for each z setting.
